Commissioner Mike Silverstein
Advisory Neighborhood Commission ANC 2B
SMD 2B06
Dupont Circle
Washington, D.C.
Hello, neighbor!
If we haven’t already met, I’m Mike Silverstein.
I’ve lived in the Lauren at 20th and N for nearly 40 years, along with my partner Tom, and, for the past 12 years, with our Field Spaniel Katie.
I’m retired after a 31 year career as a news editor and writer at ABC News, and I’ve served as an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner (ANC) since 2003, representing Single Member District (SMD) 2B06. During that time, I’ve made it my job to work with neighbors, businesses, D.C. government, and other stakeholders for the betterment of our neighborhood and the District.

I was appointed by three different mayors to serve three terms on the D.C. Alcoholic Beverage Control Board. First by Adrian Fenty, then reappointed by Vince Gray, and by Muriel Bowser.
What’s an ANC Commissioner?
Commissioners are unpaid, and the duties are to advise the Mayor, Council, the D.C. bureaucracy about neighborhood matters.
Working Together For the Common Good
I have a record of working with neighbors on public safety, public education, seniors, LGBT+ issues, transportation, and our parks.
There’s So Much More to be Done
From safer streets, affordable housing, LGBT+ issues, COVID-19, supporting small businesses, and more, I plan on keep working for you in 2021-2022.
